About County Clays

About us

est. 1990

A SCSTG provider, the clay shooting ground was built in 1990 by the late Sir Reo Stakis who was a keen shot and long time head of Stakis Hotels, the former owners of Dunkeld House Hotel.

The shooting centre is the Largest sporting clay pigeon range in Scotland consisting of 14 stands each incorporating six to nine different targets from bolting rabbits and driven grouse to fast pheasants.

As a family business County Clays prides itself on the quality of its lessons and offerings. Clark Taylor and his team of instructors are all APSI Level 2 qualified and draw on their long-standing experience to provide expert tuition to guns of all abilities.

Each May our clay pigeon shooting ground runs it’s famed ‘Saints and Sinners’ charity competition.

County Clays, in association with John Dixon Gunmakers, hosts the Kinrara Gin Challenge where participants who breaks each of the varied clays wins a bottle of Kinrara Gunshot Gin.
